About The Six Bells

The Six Bells operates a Michelin-rated inn and restaurant in New York's Hudson Valley and a retail store in Brooklyn, building an expanding lifestyle and hospitality brand around a love of the past.

The Role

The Six Bells is looking for a marketing visionary who has spent their career thinking about how brands look, feel, and land in culture. We are looking for someone who takes risks, moves fast, and has a talent for building editorial worlds around consumer brands.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day work of expanding our brand presence across social platforms, and the larger project of charting what Six Bells becomes and how the brand stretches across new properties and categories.

This is a senior role at a small company. We're looking for someone with the experience and judgment of a seasoned brand leader who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty with creating content. As we grow, you will hire and manage a team and oversee outside vendors.

What You'll Own

Brand Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and maintain the Six Bells brand identity across the inn, future hotel properties, e-commerce and retail.
  • Maintain brand guidelines covering visual identity, voice, photography standards, and usage rules
  • Develop and manage brand partnerships and collaborations
  • Work closely with the founder and senior leadership to align brand strategy with overall company direction (new property openings, product launches, licensing, and retail expansion)
  • Be a strategic thought partner to the CEO on how brand decisions connect to business outcomes
  • Contribute to company-level planning, bringing a brand lens to decisions about growth, partnerships, and new markets

Content & Social

  • Own content across Instagram, TikTok, email, and other channels
  • Shoot and edit content on and off property; this is a hands-on role and the ability to capture great photos and video is a core requirement
  • Brief and art-direct external photographers, creators, and videographers
  • Design and produce brand assets (social graphics, email templates, campaign visuals, printed materials) with proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Own the Six Bells email program: editorial calendar, list growth, segmentation, and performance
  • Develop our Substack as a substantive, editorial product

Metrics & Performance

  • Set KPIs for brand health across channels: follower growth, engagement, email performance, conversion to bookings and e-commerce
  • Establish a regular reporting cadence
  • Manage tracking infrastructure including UTMs and Google Tag Manager

New Property Launches

  • Lead brand and marketing work for new hotel openings: pre-opening strategy, channel build-out, content production, and launch
  • Develop a repeatable playbook for how a new Six Bells property launches publicly

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or content
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly shaping a consumer brand, ideally in hospitality, travel, food, lifestyle, or design
  • Strong photography skills; video editing a plus
  • Experience owning social media channels with a track record of audience growth
  • Experience managing an email program, including list growth and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and partnership development
  • Proficiency with analytics and tracking tools: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or equivalent
  • Experience with new property, product, or brand launches preferred
  • Strong writing skills across formats

Logistics

Full-time, remote. Regular travel to mid-Hudson Valley required — for programming, events, seasonal shoots.
